I don't care what the rest of you say, I think the new release Vicarious is great, I'm about to pre-order the CD as well.
If you're a newbie to Tool, the first thing you'd notice about their music is the off-time effect evident in almost all their songs, theres always some kind of twist that you can find in songs that would deter your finger drumming or rhythmic head movements.
Danny Carey's momentum building tom-work ,Adam Jones' simple, yet effective guitaring,Justin Chancellor's percussive use of bass and to crown it off, Maynard James Keenan's insightful lyrics and powerful vocals are the elements that together , can cause quite a stir in your thoughts.
I shall say no more.

I'm sorry about the lack of musical entertainment tonight :(, my voice is failing me, I really need to work on it again, I need to get it back up and running this summer in time for band practice with "Sheep" >.<.
But yeah I had a really awesome time with you guys tonight :D.
About the post, Tool has always been my favourite band, they're releasing their new album '10,000 days' May 2nd.Their genre is quite difficult to pinpoint but if you listen to their stuff, you'd immediately say that its metal, its got a lot of alternative elements in it, I'd recommend these tracks if you're going to try 'em out :

Intolerance
Cold and Ugly
Lateralus
And a lot of others that would probably take up a lot of space here if I go on ^_^.

definately nice to know tool fans exist in the emirates. indeed one of the greatest bands to hit the heads of metal masses.
the new album is brilliant...extra highlight to the tracks 'jambi', 'the pot' and 'right in two' (which, in my opinion beats any song from lateralus..and i believed no other song in the future could ever come close)
