The Zen of Carpentry

With these tools carve your face,
with these lies you carve your fate,
with a smile, you carve your allies,
with a finger you carve your enemies.

With error, you wrongfully cry out,
For with pain you craft magnificence.

Hindsight

Artificial drafts reveal signs of cold weather inside a box
A body's uncontrollable urge to maintain warmth

A resort to reveal reason
A mind's controllable, yet absent attempt to fight sanity

A magazine of bullets to end unhappiness
Smoke it to the butt, stub the filter.

A cup of warm coffee to add to the concotion , a relatively sober speedball of sorts.

These are the steps of the subtle degeneration of man.

A seemingly endless night of worry and despair
A magazine left empty, the situation sarcastically grins.

Roll over on a bed to watch the room convert into an arsenal.
The gleam of a needle, and the grimace of someone who swore "he'd never".

These are the steps of the subtle degeneration of man.

Dialing solace.

It's set, the orchestral gathering of thoughts.

Goodnight.

Lavatory Graffiti

So I was at Spinneys with Tarun one evening getting something to drink when I decided to answer the call of nature.

Now usually I don't 'go' in places like this, shops, malls, school, the like ,

but if I hadn't gone this time, I would've missed some great art like,

or,

Monet anyone?.

Got Wood?

Woke up that morning with a bad neck and a helluva hangover but I managed to get to Tarun's quick enough,
Kirk wasn't at home and Mark hadn't gotten there yet.
Tarun and I headed over to CBTL for a cappucino.
Kirk calls us over.
We run through our set, didn't go as bad as I thought, managed to sing alright
I think,
Headed over to the venue after getting lost atleast twice.
Ran through sound check.
And I was doing alright so far.

Then the metal kids started pouring in 2 hours later,
Greeted a few people in the crowd and waited until Adham gave us the go.
Hid behind the drumkit after I got bored of walking around.
Quick pep-talk and Adham gives us the 'go'.
We 'went'.

Man it was incredible , we pulled off a really tight set, considering the kind of music we were playing, it was really awesome seeing the crowd enjoying themselves and even (no seriously) moshing :|.
I'm going to end this post here , because I can ^_^.

Thanks a lot to everybody who came and saw us, your support means the world to us , thanks for having an open mind and thanks for listening, we were 'Got Wood?' ;).

This was our setlist for anyone who wanted to know :

Dave Matthews Band - Ants Marching
Incubus - Summer Romance (Anti Gravity)
Got Wood? - Star Train
Red Hot Chili Peppers - By The Way
Got Wood? - Of Today

Cheers all, heres a link with more pics of the show,

Cigarette burns and coffee circles

Its easy to draw a link between being in a sensory deprivation tank,

and the relatively slow effects of living alone.

Woke up at around 4:28 PM today and played a little guitar,
conveniently skipped lunch, and managed to get myself to make some coffee an hour after.

Don't get me wrong though, I love this.
I'm afforded a few opportunities of coming home late, getting shitfaced without worrying anybody.

Right now I've got a pack of lights and coffee in front of me, lights dim, and Dire Straits - Fade to black playing.

I've had quite a week too, I won't get into any kind of details , but I wonder how good this will get.

The only reason I'm actually even posting this is because I haven't had the time , energy or need to post in a while.

Well I've got time now,

and stuff.

Oh and if you're wondering whats happening with Deviant (or DVNT as we're now called), the recording process is finally over and we've sent in our demo to CSM so keep your fingers crossed for us , lord knows we've got ours in knots at this point.

Cheers and goodnight.

The Collective Unconscious

The hidden sweeps
The clock runs lean
The faster they run
Fueled by ignorance
To choke their own
To Survive

Angels alight, morning fire
The break of dawn will mark
The final circle
Will we perish this time
Or left alone in this
Self destructive dance
To live
To breathe
To sin

Do you really move
As what I see
Nothing ever changes
Never at peace

Do you really bleed
For all that you do
Comes back to you
Never will be

Viva Italia and such

Who would've thought football would've been so much fun, Arnold was lucky enough to get his hands on two VIP tickets to the "Majlis" at the aviation club with an open bar and diner and we took full advantage of it.

Great game blah blah but what was really awesome was...

Dayaan's random thought of the day #1

"If modern music is technically nothing but different instruments spewing forth a bevy of notes in an orderly manner......

.............will there ever be a time where all possible combinations of said notes are made?"

Perish the thought, although its a little frightening how close music has gotten to the above statement, yes I'm talking about 'grindcore' and all it's other definitive forms.

It's almost like these bands decide to place notes that don't 'sound right' (yes yes I know, grano salis in mind) and just work from there.
Its not that I don't like it, in fact its quite the opposite, I find it really interesting the way bands like 'Sikth' can claim complete originality (for now) because of their 'strange' sound.

Thats all for now, I just thought I'd better make an update before I'd have to do it at gunpoint.

Saves a lot of fuss really.

Stickboy

A long time ago, about two years to be exact,
A bored, yet ambitious boy decided to liven up a certain forum that he was a part of , by creating a webcomic of his own.
However, owing to a lack of funding, talent and time,
It didn't really look all that appealing.

Believing in simplicity , he ploughed on and soon succeeded in spicening up the website he aimed to....spicen

So here it is, The Adventures of Stickboy

P.S On a side note, your first encounter of any of the strips may lead you to think that they're lame. But fret not little ones, for they were made for that purpose , and above all to be show how being random,

can also be kinda funny ^_^.

Go on then :).

Fin.

Incidentally, I've updated the blog roll on the right ,
I recommend Ishyta's blog, though new, I have a good idea what shes going to do with it,

Cheers all ;).

Graduation '06

I don't know if I'll be able to recreate the feelings or emotions floating through the halls that night , mostly because it happened on Saturday and its like.....Tuesday now.

But where words cease to be effective, pictures do even better,

Rajat gave a very very very good speech , as did Sonam, and Arnold and me managed to move the crowd with our 'close-to-solid' rendition of Mark Knopfler's 'Local Hero Theme : Going Home'.
Whats great is, that song will always make me remember that night, as well as the preparation and practice we went through,

Even as I listen to it now, the beginning still chokes me up.

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

All in all, it was a wonderful night, one that I won't forget for years to come,
The dinner right after at the Irish Village was brilliant too, Harith took the trouble of making a small speech about everyone in our grade and Aishwarya was kind enough to hand out personal gifts to us all (she even managed to be late for the ceremony because of it, you're an angel hun ;) ).

I'll wrap this up and continue on another post with more pictures as I get them hopefully,
Thank you to everyone whos helped me get this far,

The Year of Tool

Image hosting by Photobucket

"They are the greatest band to sodomize my mind and soul...ever"

I don't care what the rest of you say, I think the new release Vicarious is great, I'm about to pre-order the CD as well.

If you're a newbie to Tool, the first thing you'd notice about their music is the off-time effect evident in almost all their songs, theres always some kind of twist that you can find in songs that would deter your finger drumming or rhythmic head movements.
Danny Carey's momentum building tom-work ,Adam Jones' simple, yet effective guitaring,Justin Chancellor's percussive use of bass and to crown it off, Maynard James Keenan's insightful lyrics and powerful vocals are the elements that together , can cause quite a stir in your thoughts.

I shall say no more.

Dear Murphy

Some of you might know that I'm about to say goodbye to my Prelude, if you don't,

I'm about to get rid of my car.

Now that thats out of the way,

Me and a few friends went to the dealership a few days ago to browse around for good deals and such,
Thats where I spotted her,

She was a white VW Golf GTi, the car I've been after for a little over a year.
Thinking it'd be an automatic, I had already written it off in my mind but it wasn't...
She was beautiful,
the rest of my posse quickly evaluated the car, beginning with whatever was wrong with it (no it was more like JUST what was wrong with it),
My eyes managed to see through the missing rear windshield wiper and the broken right headlamp, as well as the scuff on the left side mirror.

She really was something.

Excitedly, I called up my dad and told him about it and he said he'd take a look the next day.

I went to bed with a smile on my face that night.

This morning, my dad managed to take a day off , and we went and saw the car again, only the salesman wasn't to be found,

I went back there tonight with Arnold and after he inspected my Prelude, he agreed for a trade-in with a little expense. I couldn't believe it to be honest, but apparently it was "on".

I left the place and made my way home and hit the Sheikh Zayed Road,

Then it happened,

My hood flew up and smashed into the windshield and sunroof , I was blinded.
I tried to push it down repeatedly but this only caused it to smash into the windshield again.

I left it in a sandpit close to Thunderbowl and walked home,

The only reason I'm typing all this right now is because it happened atleast an hour ago and I've had plenty of time to think about it and get over some of the trauma.

The worst that could happen at that time, actually managed to happen (barring an accident).

It'll be a while until I can pretend to laugh about all this.

Part 2
-------------------

The walk home was terrible, the wind in my face only reminded me of how the hood flew up about 30 minutes ago (I have quite a graphic imagination)
It all caved in the whole walk home, from what I was feeling at the time, to the vicious cackle I heard from a passing motorist, and the person who came near my smashed vehicle and offered me a laminated card with arabic written on it.

This would probably qualify as the proverbial icing on the cake in regard to my recent string of unfortunate events.

That car is now dead to me,

R.I.P Carla.

Prose : n 1: "ordinary writing as distinguished from verse 2: matter of fact, commonplace, or dull expression"

I've hit a low again,
don't ask me why,

I'll probably forget about it in the morning.

I just feel a little hurt but it'll rub off as soon as I finish this post.

Its closing in on 3 Am right about now.

I feel pathetic having to turn to my blog for comfort.

Musics a great anesthetic when you aren't thinking about it.

This is beginning to morph itself into a poem.

Like one of those 'dare-I-say' emo ones you'd find on a random LiveJournal.

I should be grateful.

Yeah, I should be grateful.

End.

Snow of the Sahara

So its been eons since I last blogged , or has it?,

My blog 'culture' usually entails me being inspired at random times, although right now I'm going to attempt to force it.

hm.

Ah yes, prom managed to suck even more than last years (if thats even possible) ,
However, after about 5 Vodkas (I lost count) and swig of Tequila, Karan made up for the rest of the night with his shenanigans , God bless him the poor sod.

In other news I realised what a computer geek I am,
Our router fried and after about two days of no intraweb , I spent my free time being holed up in my room doing absolutely fuck all.
I did get a lot of bass practice done though, I think I'm finally getting better, I can feel my left hand getting faster , after a stint of it not being able to keep up with my right hand.
I need a proper bass too, I've lowered the action so low on mine that when I tune down to D (which incidentally is what Deviant tunes to) , I get a slight fret buzz,
I'm hoping it won't be noticeable when we record this summer.

I've been listening to quite a lot of Jazz these days thanks to Arnold, mostly stuff by Dave Weckl, if you haven't heard of him, try getting hold of a track of his called 'Tower of Inspiration'.

I've got nothing much to say now,
Checked out Beneath The Remains , NSD , Stenchwart M.A.N , Believe and Revenge Tragedy last night at the 4th Assembly gig, it was great meeting a lot of people there too.

Incidentally, I've added the Sandwash blog to my chain of links, I recommend checking it out.

So thats it I guess.

Cheers and such.

Neunundneunzig Luftballons

This post will begin as nothing but a baseless body of text.
I just clicked 'New Post' on the dashboard and here I am with an empty head and nothing of substance to put up here,

But thanks for joining me here and welcome to The Long Winter ,seats are currently available in the backrow, take a load of your feet and wallow....

Alots happened since I last posted, I had the pleasure of meeting the guys from Testament,Megadeth,3 Doors Down and Reel Big Fish (who signed my wallet ;)) prior to Desert Rock.

If you want me to review the show ,

no,

Although it was could probably qualify as one of the best nights I've had in a while,
Tarun ,Anup and I ended up getting lost on the way to the Country Club, I should've seen that coming, the moment I stopped and asked them,

"Wait a minute, do any of you know where the club is?"

It took us around an hour and a half (minus the pit stops) but we finally got there in time to meet Testament.

What I found amazing was that we met quite a few Deviant 'fans' there who approached us and even singled me out for a quick chat about how the band was going and such
Tarun and I even encountered two drunk guys screaming "OMGZ ITS THE BASSIST AND DRUMMER OF DEVIANT ,LET US BOW"

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Spot the blogger ;).

Well thats it for now,

Cheers and such.

Tarun...the warmth... says:

Tarun...the warmth... says:

Arriving somewhere but not here

Image hosting by Photobucket

Anyone who knows me will also know that I like Opeth and Porcupine Tree ,and when two bands tend to link in some way, it makes me all jittery to the point where I change my name, paint my face yellow and run around Ibn Batuta naked (in no particular order).....

It might even happen one of these days *chuckle*

Moving on, with the same topic in mind....

Porcupine Tree - Arriving somewhere but not here

Never stop the car on a drive in the dark
Never look for the truth in your mother's eyes
Never trust the sound of rain upon a river rushing
Through your ears

Arriving somewhere but not here

Could you imagine the final sound as a gun
Or the smashing windscreen of a car?
Did you ever imagine the last thing you'd hear as you're fading out
Was a song?

Arriving somewhere but not here

All my designs, simplified
And all of my plans, comprimised
And all of my dreams, sacrificed

Ever had the feeling you've been here before?
Drinking down the poison the way you were taught
Ever thought from here on in your life begins
And all you knew was wrong?

Arriving somewhere but not here

All my designs, simplified
And all of my plans, comprimised
And all of my dreams...

Did you see the redness block your part?
Did the scissors cut a way to your heart?
Did you feel the end before the suns of mothers
Tearing you apart?

Arriving somewhere but not here

-------------------------------

While browsing the intarweb a long time ago, I was interested to find out that PT's Steven Wilson did a few vocal lines for Opeth's song 'Bleak' , you probably already know this but if you don't, he sings the bit that goes.....

"
Devious movements in your eyes
Moved me from relief
Breath comes out white clouds with your lies
And filters through me"

........and onwards after that.

The link in the 'Arriving somewhere but not here' is Opeth's Mikael Akerfeldt's solo in the song.
I'm not going to go into detail about how the solo adds on to the song but it does play a crucial role in the sole meaning of the song if you're visualising it the way I am.

The rhythm behind the song is a driving force, literally in a way because it does bring about a feeling of movement, wind in your hair , head full of thoughts , driving at an alarmingly high speed with something important on your mind.

The Driver
Nobody really thinks a lot when they drive which brought me to the assumption that the driver could have been under the influence of something.
Driving away from worry and pain, or right into the heart of it all to bring an end to it.
He crashes (Keywords:musical cues) but passes away slowly as the music draws to a close.

It could even be something other than a car and driver.
Could it be.....

The Passing
Afterlife,
The title in itself could suggest that the generic human being living his or her life on earth would eventually end up somewhere equally devoid of anything holding true significance after the passing.I thought about this when I listened to it at school in an empty room with a pen and paper.

The song can act as a portal, listen to it and then reflect and make little comparisons between the feelings and lyrics in the song with your own interpretation of the world and it's yet unknown secrets.

I have now officially gone off on a tangent.

Dayaan.

Assembly 2

It went really well, better than I expected actually.

But the whole 'adventure' of sorts that took place the week before the gig was almost 'documentary' material honestly, all the stuff we went through to get ourselves ready and everything that happened like

* The sleepover/late night jam session at my place
* The idea of pulling out of the whole show two days prior to it
* The way my E string managed to break a day before the gig and the whole ride to Wafi just to get a new pack of strings late in the night.
* Getting to meet the coolest local ever (Mo)
* My bed breaking
* Waking up the next morning at 8 (when we planned at 9:30)...
* ...to go audition for BOTB.....
* ...which didn't happen so we went back to Jumeirah to....
* ...catch the DAA Swimathon gig with Disuse and Ashes of Dawn
* Soundcheck when we finally got to AUD
* Setlist issues
* Pulling a muscle in my left leg after or before we played
* Meeting Hakami after so long

But we managed to pull through and my first ever gig with Deviant turned out to be one of their best too and I'm glad to have been a part of that.

I'd also like to thank Ritu,Anisha,Karan,Sharad,Shehara,Hitesh,Richard,Rohan,Behlul,Norain,Ismail,Ardi,Aaron and my dad for being there , you guys were great with all the support and made me feel alot less nervous at the time,

Shes like.....back

Today was quite eventful,Sarah landed back in Dubai and shes going to be here for another 10 days,

After finding out about Anisha passing her driving test (congrats again hun ;) ) I decided to take a congratulatory nap after entertaining Sawah with an anecdote involving me and a cow.

When I woke up, Shehara,Karan and Ritu were in the room and I almost thought it was an intervention of some sort :|.

So anyway we did some horrible shisha at Beach Centre which involved a little picture capturing and Karan knocking over a glass of water onto the table.

I shall now proceed with the (ever-so-grainy) pictures taken from my Razr V3i.

Given to fly

Recently quite a few of you had asked me why I haven't been doing any reviews,
the truth is I've been busy with alot of things lately and I've barely found time for myself let alone the blog.

Yeah thats a lie.

So anyway, heres one of a song that I've been listening to quite alot these days.

Pearl Jam - Given to fly

Image hosting by Photobucket

He could have tuned in, tuned in, but he tuned out.
A bad time nothing could save him.
Alone in a corridor, waiting, locked out.
He got up outta there ran for hundreds of miles.
He made it to the ocean, had a smoke in a tree.
The wind rose up set him down on his knee.
A wave came crashing like a fist to the jaw.
Deliver him wings, "Hey look at me now!"
Arms wide open with the sea as his floor.
Oh, power, oh. He's flying whole. High, wide, oh.

He floated back down cause he wanted to share.
This key to the locks, on the chains, he saw everywhere.
But first he was stripped, and then he was stabbed by faceless men.
Well fuckers, he still stands.
And he still gets his love he just gives it away.
The love he receives is the love that is saved.
And sometimes is seen a strange spot in the sky.
A human being that was given to fly.
I'm flying, oh. High flying, oh.
He's flying, oh. High, oh, oh.

The song can be found on 'Yield'
I never did give that album much time , and I'm glad I did while passively listening to it while driving a few days ago, I never liked the music and rhythm in the song until I actually sat through it and found that the rhythm was so integral to the theme behind the track, sort of like 'Rearview Mirror' where the music and rhythm are very......'movey'.
Given to fly is a great example of how rhythm can contribute so much to a song's story and background.
The lyrics provide a pleasant read ,mostly because the theme is pretty straightforward ,
Eddie's classic yelp (if you will) can be heard whenever he says 'Fly!' and you could almost imagine him on a grassy meadow as a hundred American planes fly over Pearl Harbour.
*cough*
The song talks about a suppressed man whos been dancing to the tune of society's flute and basically, living the norm.

Suddenly, salvation.

He breaks free from the shackles and learns more about the meaning of life and how he was meant to live it before the 'system' landed.
He attempts to share this 'love' with the world soon after and the song draws to a close as melodic as how it first started.

Interesting thought - You might be able to liken the story of the song with Jesus on some levels, although my first thought was something along the lines of a visual story that showed a man in an office cubicle wearing a 'leash' (tie) and staring at a computer screen,he is then seen flying high over the ocean with a smile on his face, different panoramic shots are seen with conjunction to the rhythm of the song.
Few of us are that lucky to think outside the box and be able to think deep without being afraid of being labelled a wierd person with a dangerous mind.
If only the world were fortunate enough,

to be given to fly.

Until next time,

Cheers.

Flu paper

I must have gotten the flu overnight,

Nothing serious though,

I haven't bothered taking any medication for it yet,I think I'll just 'wing it' this time.

I've taken an interest in 'Prison Break' as of late, its really proven to be one of the best shows I've ever had the pleasure of watching,

Everything seems to have fallen into place and my trains steaming ahead

The General Leaves

Sarah leaves the country for Cairo tomorrow,

I've never had so much fun in Dubai without her being a part of the group, things are going to be really different, I can already feel it :(.

You never really appreciate a person until they're actually missing.

This probably seems like a good time to hit the 'X' button on this sorry excuse for a blog but honestly,

I couldn't care less ;)

Without Sawah, there shalt be no:-

1>Ordering at a shisha joint
2>Modifying an order
3>Arguing with authority
4>Compliments on how cool Dayaan is (because hes such a rockstah)
5>Familiar smell of vanilla....like anywhere
6>Fun drives to Sharjah
7>Arguiing with authority
8>References to me as 'DeeDee'
9>Usage of crazy immigrant accent with
10>Recommendations on great movies/music
11>Warm hugs
12>Shisha adjustments
13>Incredible source of weird facts

Take a bow

Did you ever wake up on a cold sunday morning and have a bad day simply because you set your mind on nothing going right?.

Not me, this weeks been really good to me,I just needed a clever/deceptive way to begin this post.
I have recently acquired a Motorola Razr V3i, its about time I got a new phone, the baby-blue/pink keypad combination just wasn't me anymore(incidentally the 'old me' now lies in a drawer somewhere in the house).

I'm one of those people who like saving memorable text messages on cell phones (theres yet another reason this blog exists),and that old ones got a heap of messages that I'm going to miss, which is why I'm a little reluctant about letting it go.

I need a new start,

I need to change my priorities,

I need to quit talking about stupid things like ancient text messages,

I need caffeine,

Think damnit think,

do blogs really need a purpose? , check out a few of the blogs on the links section , most of them seem to hold their own out there.

Anyway

I'm supposed to do a 2500 word thesis on language in song lyrics for my English exam and I don't know where to start, either that or I'm just plain lazy,

the latter seems about right.

So I got around to watching Scrubs yesterday, its actually not as bad as I made it out to be, not as good as I expected either but I guess thats a given, it being an American sitcom , it does tend to wallow largely in the 'Saw that coming a mile away' & 'Hurrah for cheap laughs and slapstick comedy!' region.

At the most, I'll say its cute.

Another thing thats been a source of annoyance is shit like this on the internet :-

I want to track down the sad sack of a man who made that and wrap his genitalia around an electric fence.

I'm done for today

*Feels pleased with himself for blogging :)*

Bottom Feeder

The bottom feeder

Social formulaic utterances
are all thats evident
of this moment
of this air
the atmosphere reeks
the flesh stinks
fret not,let it sink
the bottom feeders the saviour

watch him mend your ailment
watch him fight your war
he stalks the ground
taking your worthless and unwanted
as you soar high above ,with the notes of a song
denying the dynamic that exists in all

no time for pain, escape or let it lie
the world is a happier place
under the sheets,behind the drapes

the bottom feeder ploughs on
though he bleeds
the bottom feeder ploughs on

Life Update

Because thats what I've been doing lately with this little slice of the 'intar-web'.

Pretty noticeable change in music too, I've been listening to a few Slipknot tracks (yes I know, *audio-blasphemy* and such)
But playing and writing with Deviant has opened my eyes to how music is structured, one does get sick of the generic verse-chorus-verse format after years of listening to stuff like that.

My mum woke me up this afternoon because she found an old 6310i for me to use, it had Shehara's old SIM card in it too.
I put mine in it and started it up and it felt so.......alien, I didn't like it at all,it just felt so different.
I'll probably use it for a while, just for a change.

Oh I finished my English exam too, I'm so glad its over, I don't want to hear the words 'conversational analysis' again,
What a pain in the ass , I don't see how it could come in handy (feel free to comment if you think otherwise).
I also did my TOEFLs yesterday, "insultingly simple", its just the 3 hours of sitting down that killed me.

Oh I've inherited Lucas' 5-string Cort C-5 and I'm liking it alot so far, feels nice to play a full-size bass after being used to a plywood Ibanez GSR for so long, plus it looks alot more 'hXc' ;).
Aside from that, I feel alot more at 'one' with the guys in Deviant now, I've been trying to pen down any lyrics that come to my head at random times, suddenly I don't feel so insecure about being kicked out anymore.

So yay.

On a sadder note,

My family's dog 'Sheeba' passed away in Srilanka a couple of days ago, RIP.

P.S > Keep that blog alive Anisha ;)

Dayaan is sick

Yes its another "what I did today" post, go to hell.

I knew this weather was too good to be true, as of today I have succumbed to the change in temperature.

My world is pain.

I also have an A level English Mock tomorrow (woo), and I didn't go to school today either, and my bag has been in class since the school closed down for the holidays.
I spent the entire day watching Pearl Harbour, sneezing, and cake.

I got a spine tingling feeling today while walking around my room and picked up my spanish guitar from the couch and started playing,
I created something really cool and I hope I don't forget it,
T'was beautiful how it came about too,

I started out with a single note,

followed by another,

and then a rhythm

and then a few more bits and pieces to add,

and finally came up with a melody.

I hope to add alot more to it , like a bassline etc, the thing is I have no way of recording anything I create, I also have nobody to play it with because nobody will ever know what I want the piece to be.

I may sound selfish but I rarely like anybody else fiddling with my ideas and such.

Go make your own damn music!.

Haha I'm such a tool.

Shiver

Yet another long stint of inactivity here,

Fear not though, I haven't given up on the blog, I just wanted it to be a casual place anyway.

So New Years was alright, didn't manage to get wasted though, but I did manage to pretend quite a bit.

I've been listening to alot of The Doors,Armin Van Buuren,Saosin,System of a Down,Slayer and alot of other random stuff as of late, my days have been consumed by a large amount of appointments and such, I've finished my stint at Ibn Batuta too and I'm yet to be paid so yay :).

I've also been jamming quite a bit lately, I've grown more and more on my bass over the past few months, learning new things and best of all, experimenting with different EQ settings and techniques.

Karan came back from his vacation in India today so we were out and about doing the usual.

Bleh, funny how most of the posts here lack any sort of structure, but I guess it adds to the effect....or something.
