Exit

Errant souls seeing themselves shapely in a mirror
Drunk off of spirits and colours that lie

Ignore the past and present yet dance in the moment
A slow two step to the same Lakehead

Silently searching for a saviour
Amphibious spirits we are that fill a space

So efficiently and so quickly
Will you show me the door?

Salt

My friends raced towards age
Yet I did not
Great ambition and momentum moving towards their empirical North
While here I pirouette
Communicated with words
Mine with expression
Waltzed in perfect squares
I move like water

Their lake is full
My ocean still claims land

Seed

This wonderful spark of life
At her worst she's better than anything I could be
She gives me strength and order
She is everything I want to be
I want to be better than her

She must have mountains of strength and she has her extraordinary tools
She has everything I want and she does not know it
I want to be better than her

Catch a draft and I'm spinning now, I'm spinning so fast, I want to be closer
She latches on, I'm slowing, I am the Earth
Not to me, not to anybody
I'm so close to her
I need to be better

I am the image of stasis.
I am all.
This moment of clarity is timeless.
This moment birthed love.
This moment is Gaia.
This is everything forever.

I could die in your coil
I would finally feel

You hide me so well
You drown my demons in drink

I love you before I know what love is

I have become

Just..please.

Penny Crush Parade

The machine is dying.
The machine is on fire.
Hurtling in no direction.
Metal bled, create the past.

Someone jam the wheels.
Take down the sails.
If I had the means.
Had I the gall.
To steer, that which can't be stopped.

Let us await.
Await the hour.
Maybe I'll have it in me.

After all.

A Prayer

When it's time to fall,
Let the ground catch me

When the lights are out,
Let the momentum survive

If the waters break,
Give me buoyancy

When I'm not as translucent as I hope I'd be
I am The Comedian

When I fade away
Lord give me strength.
For I am the unloved.

God pulled the plug.

Mother nature and the nature of man conflict.
Warm, humming wires and whirring cogs now frozen still.
Once occupied minds, now desperately try and grasp on to anything.
Anything even remotely reminiscent of a few hours ago.
The soft hum of spinning fans would be a delight.
A reassuring reminder that even though my conscious self is occupied, things are working.
I do not remember the last time I picked up a pen.
Already my fingers have begun to ache.
Have I really filled out half a page?

If there really is a Hell, and we're living it,
then this must be purgatory.
Whatever I am writing right now has no purpose.
I haven't decided why I even began.
Maybe I'm bored.
Maybe I wanted to make use of however much sunlight I have left.
Maybe I'm remembering my life at a much simpler time.

In the span of a long wink

What's to happen tomorrow?
What led me here?
I can't have imagined any of this.
Am I imagining this?
I'm constantly chased by the end of a sentence.
And the pen in his hand, drags against tired paper.

How am I to finish this chapter?
Do I honestly want to finish it?
Or have my four walls finally had enough?
But I see space sometimes. A clear horizon that stretches through any wall I have imagined.
I am moving towards it. My eyes shut as I pass through walls with much ease.

I see mirrors.
I break into a run.
I imagine obstacles.
I dismiss them.
I create walls.
Fucking walls.
I'm angry.
I tear through.
I see light beyond light.
My eyes feel like I'm on fire.
I'm spinning furiously.

You're momentarily concerned.

"Hello?"

"Hm? Oh, sorry. Lost in thought"

We continue.

I am shaken.

I am still.

Upside down

"Hear me out", she says
"We aren't actually here"

"Where are we then?", I ask
Wide eyed, and yearning

"There's an ocean between us. I can't tell you everything, but it's a journey for me to take. Not you."

We've come full circle, and this is where I willingly sink.

The sun's smile fades while I speed slowly towards a soil bed.

Good morning, my darling.

In this coil, I grow weak
My precious son has risen, above even soil
This callous past, wakes me before I wake
It is my turn now
To say good morning to the sun

Bibliography

"I do not believe in God or a god, I believe in the power of faith. Its healing powers and the happiness it brings believers. To them, I wish them goodwill and happiness, and I commend them on finding it today. But I hope to my peoples' creation that they find out that the last page of their novelle has been torn out and they find out there might be nothing beyond this mortal coil. I hope their happiness lasts their entire lifetime, because after that, I believe there is nothing. The beauty of it all is that they will never know, and neither will we." D.W

Gatineau

If we were young
We'd disappear
Find a new place
Amidst the hills
And luscious green

And start a new day
And start a new way
And start all over
Again

But you aren't you
And I'm far from me
Let's wile away time
Kiss by kiss
Lie by lie
Until we unravel and collide again

I see the settling
In your eyes
Wallowing in pools of uncertainty
Grudgingly content
Dare I try
To walk right through you

Clueless in her eyes
Visions of settling
Though she denies
The charade is never ending
For the first time, I draw breath

Siren Red

You are my solace
When I look around me and all I see are walls
You are gravity
My worldly sins mean nothing to you
I do not expect them to
My rainy day shoulder

The dry hand of a gentleman
Pulling me out of places I once called home
The wry smile of a mistress laying on a motel bed
The devilish skip of a piper
The dizzying dance of a fae
The endearing touch of a stranger
Soft promises, never kept
That I never cared for

Tell me lies, tell me anything
Share your victories
Hold me against a wall and ravage me
Lay me on the floor and shut mine eyes
Tomorrow is a sky away

You make me forget
I am humbled

For I swim in your sea.

Oceans wrap their loving waves around me.

Your chains tattooed on my leg.

Pulled down to heaven.

It is fortunate.

That you are shallow.

The Zenith

Maybe they had places to be,
Maybe I was noticeably full
Maybe the stars were already in my favour
Though I didn't notice.

Maybe this is what was meant to happen
Maybe I wasn't needed
Maybe all the while I was happy
Though I didn't feel it.

I should've never told my story
I could've been a locked box
I would've been exciting and rewarding
Had you been my key

Now that all this time has passed
Now that my stars have lit up the sky
Maybe this was meant to happen
Maybe you'll sing for me tomorrow

Opinion

"I'm atheist for many reasons. First, let's look at Christianity. There is only 1 bible that states rules/guidelines for a good life and get into "heaven". Yet there are many denominations in Christianity that seem to only want to follow certain rules and say the rest do not apply to their denomination. Ex: the bible says to not to drink in excess to get drunk. Yet some Christian denominations say it's Ok. Now I'm not saying I'm holier than thou, because I drink all the time but I don't follow religion. So if you are breaking all these rules of the bible and lets face it we allllll do it, we judge people, covet other peoples things, etc. then how can we call ourselves true Christians. If we are all Christian then there should be only one denomination that follows just the bible and that's it.

Next, looking over at the middle east, I think taking of lives for a god is absolutely ridiculous. I think those religions along with Christianity brain wash people and gives a small group of people power over so many peoples lives. And to be able to control the lives of others on a whim especially the radicals is a dangerious weapon. These few tell millions that if they don't follow certain "rules" that they will burn in hell for eternity. And as people we fear what we fear uncertainty and then follow these rules, even to go as far as taking the lives of innocent people, because well obviously we don't want to burn in hell and reach whatever heaven they believe in. But these rules are in put in place to make life easier for those who make and implement them.

Now I will say that religion does highlight good morals and maybe that helps to prevent a certain amount of chaos, but a lot of these morals should be common sense. On the other hand, what are most wars caused over? Religion. Probably one of the biggest instigators actually. So why is something that is supposed to make people's lives so much happier cause so much destruction and chaos?

I believe that religion is for the people who need to be told what to do because they can't make life decisions themselves because they are weak mentally. So if someone is telling them what to do, that kick in the ass so to speak, they will do what they are told. People who continually to fuck up in life do to stupid decisions they've made on their own accord turn to religion to forgive them because they cannot forgive themselves.

Think about this. If I took a group of children to an Island and told them that a giant sea creature ruled the island, and If was was adament about the idea and preached it everyday, they'd believe me. Anyone told something enough times if not knowing any better will believe anything they are told and in a few generations you'd have an island full of inhabitants that believe a story that I pulled out of my ass. Who says religion isn't the same. We'll never know what happened thousands of years ago, some guy could of just written the Bible/Qur'an/Tanakh or whatever on a whim.

That's just my two cents.

One Love,"

The Promise

I wish I had something concrete to believe in. I'm starting to fear that I've been lied to from the very hour of my birth. Or perhaps everyone is lied to.

The lies grip your head before sensibility has any chance to counter them, you are left stripped off your dignity, wealth, courage. Cursed to live amongst liars, and fairytale promises, conditioned to believe without condition, damned to live in fear.

Is this not the greatest injustice?, yet the hand of the first intellectual, is swiftly cut down in fear.

This is their greatest defense, those who live in fear, propogate fear within our children, who later follow orders that they instill in their hearts, all on their own at a later age. Oh the irony.

My friends, we are celebrating a notion, not a fact.

Believe in this, for whatever may be,

He still loves you dearly.

Does he not?.

Hearbeats like an angel tapping rhythmically to a drum
Violent flashes of light, fluids rush with great vigor
Vibrating vessels and bringing soft warmth.
The reaction renders cheeks red and swollen
Humming with euphoria as eyes are drawn, and lips parted.
It is a moment where one ceases to be, and everything is beautiful

Forum Fun

Q : Hey guys i have been referred to this website by a colleague. He said you people can help me pick out a new pc. I live in the UAE.

Here is my current weak system.

processor: Intel Core Quad Q6600 2.40 GHZ
memory: 4GB ram
motherboard : ep35-ds3l
GPU: ATI 3870 512 MB

Well, i have played almost every single game that came out on this system. Last game being just cause 2. At a decent rate of 30-40 fps. But ofcourse, graphics werent too high.
So i thought i know how to build a new pc, but i came to read your forums and i got confused really fast with all your talks about microstutters or what have you. This pc has been with me with for two years, and when i bought it, it wasnt the top of the line either.

I don't want to play games at a resolution of above 1680x1050. So what do you think i should go for? Lets say a budget of 3500-5000

So can you guys pick out a system for me that will last me a while, say two years again? Something not too fancy, but something that can run new games without compromising much on graphics.

A : Disregard everything said before.

Here's what you do, and you need to follow my instructions to the dot, or else it will not work.

Procure a duffel bag, roughly 11' x 34'. Inside it, put in all your worldly posessions that will fit comfortably, your phone, wallet, passport, yearbook. Basically, everything that means anything to you.

Also, you will need a series of post-its in 3 different colours. The selection of colours are immaterial to the process, just as long as they are different. Write down your address and homephone number on each.

Stick one inside the duffel bag, another inside your wallet, and the third one should be taped to your chest, you will need to remember where you live in case you forget due to circumstances that shall be explained to you later.

Head over to COMPU ME, and head over to Tahira Computers.

Ask for Vinayak, the head salesman there, you will recognise him on account of him having a desk in front of him with a lot of paperwork.

Tell him that you "know all about the cheese"

He will nod, and take you to the 'backroom'.

When you're there, do not say a word and try not to make any noise until he says "Guatemala?"

At this point, you should nod your head, and take your shoes off and put them in the bag.

Hand him your bag filled with your worldly posessions, and he will hand you a red box.

Do not open the box until you are home safe, inside, you will find a Mendocino Celeron Processor capable of running Commander Keen at lightning fast speeds.

The rest of the items will be in the mail, hence the two other post-its that are safe inside the duffel bag that Vinayak now holds.

Around this time, you will begin to feel a bit strange, but don't be scared. You will be fine, although the events that have just transpired will be completely forgotten.

When you regain consciousness an hour later, you will instinctively check to see if you had been raped, and this is how you will chance upon the post-it on your chest.

Eventually, you will find yourself home with a proc that is almost God-sent.

You will be the envy of all your friends.

Graffiti

Graffiti

By Dayaan W.

Act I

4:20 AM
Cold morning in Prague, he shuffles through the snow,
Runs back because he hasn't shut his door.
Dressed in a cheap Chinese import Diadora track suit, his breath is steady despite the biting frost building around his spectacles.
Blinded for a moment,
he wipes away,
puts them back on,
regains composure, and makes for the Old Town Square.

Act II

Almost deserted, he surveys his canvas. The old fountain forming the center seems to have frozen as it stands lifeless, staring back at him in equal indifference.
A pigeon defecates into the frozen fountain bowl, a futile attempt at breathing life into the barren square.
The artist smiles, and wastes no more time, as the window now, for his magnum opus, is almost fully shut.
He tears away the breakaway, stripper track pants he'd borrowed from his nephew the previous night,
takes a deep breath,
exhales,
and walks into the open square as pigeons beat a hasty retreat for the skies. If the slippery cobblestones could fly, one would imagine that they would follow suit, had they any idea of the events that would follow early that morning at Wenceslas.
He takes yet another deeper breath, squats down, not so low that his derrier would kiss the smooth cobble stones below, yet not so high that one would sit on a chair, he needed it just right.

Act III

A perfectionist, like any artist worth a second look of evaluation, that morning , gazing up at the Tyr Cathedral, he did not have to stop himself from instinctive prayer, there was no need because..

...THIS, truly this!, is what his life was all about, this was what he had lived for, and this...

...would be something!.

The cold would, to a layman, effectively freeze a pair of supple, tender cheeks together, restricting the flow of feces, but the artist was...well, the artist. He was a professional, a cut above the rest.
He, of course, had accounted for the cold weather, and had trained himself to loosen almost every ligament and tendon that connected his bone and flesh together with simple exercise.
Tightening and loosening the muscles below the hips, he soon thawed out the frost until all numbness below his waist, had all but gone.

Act IV

Steady breath, he slowly released his payload of yesterdays stroganoff onto the almost inviting cobble, and waddles forward proudly, with the finesse and gait, of a well decorated, duck general.
It had begun to snow again, tiny flakes were gradually descending onto what had now become, a well decorated town square,
"Perfect!"
He thought to himself, "the icing!, it comes forthwith!".
Anyone watching would have not believed that so much, could have come out of a vessel so small.
Was he human?, no in fact, he was not.
He was an artist, THE artist.
Thirty minutes later, the townsfolk were already gathered, staring in disbelief.
Some fainted, others fought through the cold for words that never came, some even screamed.
The majority of the audience just stood silently, as if the artist had a thousand fingers resting on everybody's lips. Nobody dared move, the local law enforcement had let their batons slip from their hands into a slow swing around their wrists.
It was too late.
It was complete.

Act V

The artist could hardly stand. he'd lost a lot of energy, having completed his masterpiece that stretched atleast half a kilometre across the square in diameter, on both sides.
He had just completed the first and largest copy of The Vitruvian Man using only fecal matter. He had earlier planned to add the finishing touches to the eyes, face, hair, lips but was too fatigued, as was his audience.
Now facing the Tyn Cathedral to the North, he sighed a prayer, and collapsed on the street.
The air was ripe with paint, to the point where even the most iron-stomached were finding it difficult not to regurgitate their breakfasts onto the already defiled ground.
No, the old cobble stones had had enough.
The first voice heard was a woman, cutting through the silence like a swing of a rusty axe on flesh.
"This is an outrage!".
The last syllables cut short due to her almost vomiting after breathing the dense air.
The Town Mayor stepped forward, over the motionless body of The Artist.
Taking a deep breath,
exhaling,
he said,
"No."
"This is art".

Not for the week

I received some troubling news yesterday. I can't say it didn't affect me upon hearing the whole thing.

But what really gets to me is the days to follow. I subconsciously envision every aspect of my daily life, adding several mental weights and amusing myself by thinking about how long it would take for me to drop to the floor in an almost catatonic state.

Unfortunately, this is the only solace that I can derive from said situation.

Am I scared about the present?, or the not so distant few weeks?.

Fuck it.

'Fuck this' indeed.

I eat to be full,
I drink for my thirst to be quenched,
I walk to be tired,
I smoke to be happier,
I argue for submission,
I love to be loved,
I lie to trust,
I am dying to live.

Gedankenexperiment

Olive green turtleneck, dark denims, Birkenstocks , cafe latte in one of those mugs with something silly like "#1 Dad" or "World's Best Bastard". The T.Vs turned onto some news channel or the other, who really cares, he knows his morning routines are pretty much scripted to whatever was on that show with the normal family in that average house somewhere Downtown, or whatever. If he wanted to, he'd probably be pulling out a warm pair of his own jeans from the oven, in the nude, with a toothbrush still in his mouth, it's amazing how easy it is to picture yourself doing that. But once you leave the house, and interact with well dressed people, you feel dirty, immediately deleting the memory of that morning and replacing it with something,

Normal.
----

Welcome to my take on people and society in general. I'm not the best at what I do, but that's only because I have no idea what I'm doing, the story may shift here and there, there may not be a story at all , I may guide you into many walls, but I guarantee, the nano-second of disappointment will not be alien to you, an emotional medic that's constantly working in your head, keeping you content, making you feel important, building ego, repairing fault lines after a fight. If you really aren't feeling that familiar self-worth, it's likely that your medic is stuck in traffic.

Puddle

"... imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, 'This is an interesting world I find myself in, an interesting hole I find myself in, fits me rather neatly, doesn't it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!' This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, it's still frantically hanging on to the notion that everything's going to be all right, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise. I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for."

As I shed a single tear,
While you remain silent at my feet.

He lives

He finds home with the maps scarred on his arm, and the wounds unhealed within his subconscious.

He knows full well, that he cannot live out his hedonistic dream.

He is the dying mother of his own mental being, conceived and experiencing the world folded onto itself.

He is born out of myth, and exists by reacting with what we accept is reality.

This must stop 'Tree'.

Look,
I'll level with your tall, towering ass.
I know it isn't eaasy being a tree, especially with the Swedish running around.
But really, you cannot, honestly think that people would mistake you for a human being, thats just wishful thinking tree!.
Stop being such a cunt and assume regular tree behaviour, you cannot run with those legs tree!, they're just made of bark, even a chipmunk with a chainsaw could catch up to your stupid ass!.
I'll bet your tree friends think you're all that with your two legs, but you don't fool me you bastard, I know I waved at you when we met, but that was just me feeling sorry for you.
Motherfucker.
Get back to your roots tree.

----

Alright so I decided to put up my own homage to the person who runs one of the most awesome blogs I've come across.
The tree I picked was one I photographed myself in an eco park at the Kandalama Hotel in Sigiriya.
Oh yes , big-ups to the 53rd Division of the Sri Lankan Military on finally putting an end to the LTTE Chief.
Thats all from me now.

Rawr

I am a rebel
Or am I really?.
A long time ago, I used to rebel against anything that stood in the way of my pseudo-hedonistic lifestyle.
But that was me at 18, today I can admittantly say that I base my opinions on whether the information regarding the subject matter is easily accessible or not, which sounds pathetic really.
I hope that people who ever had a measure of respect in me can forgive me for this, but there have been incidents where I've come out on top without question.
I honestly have no clue why I decided to write this, I've been yearning to write about anything, for quite some time, maybe it's just me desperately wanting a magnum opus of my own, ignoring the fact that I've got a lot more time left in this world.
But I feel I've lost faith in faith itself, I could pass inexplicably, leave a trace for a year, and then be forgotten like a firecracker glorified.
A cousin of mine here in Sri Lanka recently reminded me that the emotions you show, the extreme ones that are born out of a social reaction, are the manifestations of God himself, i.e, you being as hateful and ripe with deceit, at your worst time, is but a mere measure of how vicious God can be. As for me, I've been loved and discarded, as well as loved and discarded, driven to sheer terror, madness, love, depression , each born out of each other like a chemical imbalance that can never settle.
And probably never will, but I don't really mind in a way, after all, to feel is to live.
I believe that in order to exist, to truly exist on Earth, you need to react with the environment in some way, no matter how small, or insignificant. You could bump into someone on the street that you've never even met before, and it would have some kind of effect later.

I actually typed this out a couple of days ago, thinking I'd complete it, but I honestly couldn't be arsed right now.
Sorry.

EDIT: I just got back from an awesome trip to Sigiriya last night, we stayed at a couple of hotels, the second one being the Heritance Kandalama which was just beautiful since it was built around a forest, almost everything left undisturbed

Thats all from me now,

Bye <3 :)

Omegle what?

So recently I came across this anonymous chatroom called Omegle, it's basically the online equivalent of being thrust into a dark room with a complete stranger and forced into conversation.

This of course irked me, for no reason other than, what is an omegle?

My failure in finding a meaning behind it, and my newfound disdain in stupid words that lack a purpose other than to describe a retarded idea that it was made for...
...led me to write out this post at 5 minutes to 5 AM :).

Now I'm sure that, like me, you guys see how this idea can go terribly terribly wrong.

So I decided to try either annoying, or freaking out my given 'Stranger' into disconnecting, this way I can be a nuisance and nobody can really do anything about it. =D

I should give up therapy.

Anywhoooo..

iCan't Sleep

I was just telling a friend (this post is going to come off as boring to you now that you know what it is so move along, you know who you are haha) , sometime after I finally got around to watching that Benjamin Button movie,

I wish I lived in a movie, and I know I'm not the only one who probably feels this way.

That way, you'd know when something bad was about to happen because of the rise in tempo of the music, which would give you enough time to get out of the way because that killer panda moonlighting as a ninja is totally going to rip you a new one.

Some people want to know how their story ends, some would rather wait for the surprise, or for some, an anti-climax.

I'd want to know whats in store for me really, I'd have a chance to improve on it, or just be content with the way things are when current affairs go awry.

I guess for a select few, you'd really be able to categorise life with movie genres, you'd be able to tell one personality from the other that way non?.

If I had more readers here, I'd ask them to post a comment with what director they'd want their lives done by, but clearly I don't.

Incidentally, I'm loving this two sentence minimum shift thing I have going here.

Ingenious.

I've realised theres really no point, or cohesion with this entry so heres a picture of a sleepy hedgehog.

Taprobane

Like a flower with war-torn petals,
Where the people live on cold showers and hot nights.
The sound of the wingless birds expelled from corroded cannons,
Will drive your flock away from sight.

To sift through the reddenned grain seems a chore
To lay motionless in a pool of tears is much more than I can bear
I wait head-strong and patiently until the sounds of marching men fade, swallowed by the trees
To rise and take stock, and start all over again.

I'm still in Sri Lanka, taking in the sights and sounds at a moderate pace, due to my stay being unceremoniously extended. On the whole, I don't really mind, I can't believe that so much time has past already.
For everyone I've left in Dubai, I miss you guys loads :), hopefully I'll be back soon.

Cheers,

It will all be over and here we are

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-Q5t4Q26o0

The silence keeps it easy
Keeps you safe for the moment
As you're walking away
Your footsteps get louder
All you needed was time
But now time will destroy us

It will all be over and here we are
We're stuck inside this salted earth together
You'll pierce my lungs
My limbs go numb
As my colors fade out

You watch me bleed
You watch me bleed

I gave you everything but die with a smile
All you wanted was to live for a while
You took everything but it left you empty
You can't replace me, you can't

It's almost over and here we are
We're stuck inside this salted earth together
You'll pierce my lungs
My limbs go numb
As my colors fade out

You watch me bleed
You watch me bleed

It will all be over and here we are
We'll die inside this salted earth together
You'll pierce my lungs
My limbs go numb
As my colors fade out

You watch me bleed

*sigh* <3

Meanwhile, I can't want to get back to Dubai.

iLive

I live with every crack of the sky that brings tears to thirsty soil.
I yearn with every grievance struck upon me by human spite.
I seek the judgement day brought swiftly, ending this mortal frame.
I am but a lone wolf seeking shelter.
I will be forsaken.
I will be.

I collide

One, two three
Lets meet and cavort like old times
In the same apartment towering over city cars
painting bright neon lines in a slow shutter
Lets roar louder than the fire engulfed
In, out and around a dying building sacrificed

Twirling and twisting around a promise broken
Time beats with the sound of scurrying seconds
I'm thinking, running, screaming faster now until sunshine

The clicking hands fall to the floor
It's left me in the middle of my own little choreographed breakdown
As the dust settles
The sun will be my own, and only witness
Goodnight

If the last man still stood

Ever found a purpose in thought and failed at it?
You're now not only thinking of a purpose,
But by doing so, proving yourself wrong if you believed in the first line.
I hear about 'modern thinking' so much nowadays and it's quite intimidating if you do follow it closely, because any speculation on the subject automatically renders almost any hypothesis ultimately pointless.

The reason is, because it's just that easy.
Where are the great thinkers of yore?, where are the 2009 incarnates of Plato?, the manifestations Socrates?, hell, where are the damned Crowleys nowadays?.

Haha.

Free speech and the mythical microphone for everybody in today's day and age with the aid of newer and more liberal mediums of media? (thats going to make money someday, or maybe it has already and I've missed the curry-train). Pfft.

The subconscious and taut reins of the 'better man' still pull hard at the layman by the teeth.

I crave for innovation, something new, lets do away with subtlety forever.

And invoke the power of dream.

Flash photography

Everybodys watching me
Put away good morals and enter the flame
Everybodys haunting me
Tear away the curtains and throw it all in
This is how I want to live
Sonic ecstasy and a box of cigarettes
There isn't a care in my world
Casual blasphemy and a box of matches

Light the fire
Let it burn
The infamous flame
Hiding behind a paper shield
Let it surround me
Let it pull me
Deeper
Deeper still

hitesh: It's okay, ill penetrate your nose!

dayaan: and impregnate your eyeballs. What a fun ride to the delivery room that'll be

shehara: that is almost poetic

WORK ON THIS

dayaan: haha, are you serious?

shehara: ya plz

I see six eyes looking
Looking at me
Sharing your perception

I see six eyes looking
Looking at me
Occular penetration

I reach in with two hands
Pierced retinas
Bloodies t'sheets

I reach back with two hands
Lifeless and limp
Bloodies t'floor

I see four eyes looking at me
Looking back at two
With cruel intent

So I began, with the end in mind

Syndrome

"Do you hear that?"

"Hear what?"

"They're not letting you go back"

"Wait, hear what?"

"Here they come.."

"But I thought...."

Thats all that I managed to get across as a white star burst into flames, and rained hell around the two of us.
Time isn't a factor well realised here, you could live a century in a second, and the only thing you'd have to prove you were there,
is the experience in itself.

Songlines

There are no secrets here
This is the busiest terminal in the universe
There's no way I can stay
Yet I've created this place

You existed here once before
I remember the outlines
I remember almost everything
We lay on the floor counting

I can't take anything with me
I can't leave anything behind
I have the tiniest part in this drama unfolding
Until I'm pulled back down

We have no consequence
We have no effect
We have nothing else
We are The Undreaming

Blowing away cobwebs and dried up wit

Er, hi.

Alright, lets see if I can actually get this thing back into gear, it's been almost a year since I visited, I'll leave you with something recent.

Thanks.

Sleep well my late friend
This was all over in a heartbeat
I hope you're never lied to
And I hope you'll forget

I can't leave this behind
These hands will always be mine

Blinding shine, whiten the road ahead
Eyes already widened minutes before
Two lives ended before they ever began
Walking it off, soft steps, weary wanderer

I can't leave this behind
These hands will always be mine

I'm home with a different colour
Your colours still run where I left you
These shades will forever bleed into one
These rivers will forever drown me

For Kirk

I've forgotten what taste feels like
Now that I've crossed the space
Flickering butterflies cross the eyes
Drawing patterns within the hair flow

Now I know what they talked about
I've gone away, on a trip to return
Completely anew, nothing you've ever seen before
The street signs will stand as strong as I've left them

D.W 24/10/07

I wrote this in my head last night whilst driving home, showed it to Kirk a few minutes ago and he wanted me to put it up here.
Hope you like it as much as I try to.

Cheers all and have a great weekend.

They stand weathered

I trust the flow
For I swim in your sea
Your still waters
The liar sinks

I stay a constant
While they follow time
An easy way to start
What they once lost

I choose not to move
Rather sway
Slowly erode my patience
With the tease of the wind

With whatevers left
I'll still turn my pillow
To the spot where they once lay
With nothing but a sparkle of a future

That saw an end
The flow is swift
The flow erodes
I trust the flow

Flicker

The streetlamps seem dimmer,
or is it just me?
nobody around to contradict,
or be comfortably lied to,

But I heard a whisper in the chaos of it all,
I heard the 9:15 sliding past,
And I promise to be motionless.

Misogi

The most terrifying thing I can think of right now
Is a flash flood in a familiar room.
Your possessions, the more totemistic of which float about you
While your mind and body float around in confusion
Just knowing, eventually, fear and confusion on the bookshelf,
You realise whats about to happen and try for the door,
Panic-stricken thoughts projected like darts through the salt
Almost dissecting them in patterns.

The door isn't locked but everybody you ever loved continues at a drier pace,
Wondering why you drink so much, and will you ever awaken.

Awaken

You pinch yourself in an almost laughable way
Noticing the colours on the Dali coffee table book brushing past your earlobe
The progressive stages of desperation are as follows,

1.Shock
2.Disbelief
3.Hyper ventilation
4.Anger
5.Hyper ventilation
6.Exhaustion
7.Why me?
8.Defeat

Wallowing in a sea of self-pity, the balcony door slides open,
Kicking off a wall, you lunge towards it

But stop midway because you know there will be worse fates at hand,
At thought.

In succession.

Just embrace this inhuman,unworldy moment

For a while longer.

Farewell.

Pisschrist

Maybe it isn't all so deceptively linear, with event after event , unless you're a firm believer in fate.

I see it more like....a web, or an arrangement of fairy lights, each with varying intensity, its so fucking alive I can almost feel every fiber,

taste every leaf,
see every stupid animal-shaped cloud.

I've lived the better half of my life under the impression that I shouldn't really care about being an 'ist' or an 'ian' , even when told that I was probably just afraid of conforming.

Laughable.

Thats just it, isn't it?.How does one stray from conforming without actually doing so unintentionally?.

Well thats just it really,

intention.

Lets leave what we already know (or should know, *gazes at you meticulously*)

It's 3:09 AM, I should get some sneep.

I can't remember the last time I've felt so secure and stable, everythings under control and easy reach for now.

<3 you.

Hai ate us :(

So I picked up a couple of albums the other day, NIN's Year Zero that I've been putting off for a while, and I finally decided to pick up a copy and give it a go, while I was there, I also spotted 'Awake' by Josh Groban and thought I'd pick it up as well.
I've really liked this work before with 'Closer' but I have to say that at this point, I'm really lovering Awake, the lyrics are cheese of course, except for a few numbers but the man's vocal technique is astounding , you don't have to be a vocalist to catch upon a few interesting things he does in the album.

I've said it before when I used to run those old reviews and I still appreciate an artist who can use dynamics to his/her advantage. I'm a baritone myself and anyone would tell you how difficult it is to keep up with all those damned sopranos/tenors highs, Mr. Groban certainly does know how to raise you up even with a lower register (fuck did I just do that? , I swear it was unintentional,

fuck.)

I did get around to listening to Year Zero though, its a wonderful album, Reznor has again proven that he can still make music without the heroine, a flurry of high-fives to you my man.

Moving on, what?, I'm fine actually, a lot better in fact, thanks to her, I feel alive thanks for asking.

:)

The bands doing incredibly well too, Murtaza proved to be a great great great match with the Gotwood line-up, I hope he'll hang around with us :), look out for an EP coming out soon.

In other news, my 21st birthday since my esca....fuck.

In other news, my 21st birthdays coming up, am I excited?, nope.

Yes this was a post for the sake of posting, kinda the purpose of this blog, then again blogs don't need a purpose, just posts.

Goodnight.

The Great Sea

It feels so good until the waves swallow you whole.

I wonder what comes first, the thought that you're actually drowning, or the quick burst of air that fills your lungs soon after.

Sometimes realisation isn't as swift as we hope it'd be.

This sea is almost an ocean, I cannot help but pour more in.

I wonder why I care, I see through it anyway.

When all you think you needed was just one breath to stay afloat.

It will be taken away.

This is an endless cycle of inspiration and disappointment.

As one dies, another is reminded of it's fate.

The sea has become us, we've become the sea.

This is but the first wave.

Realisation will never be as quick.

So I began with the end in mind.

Wrenched

Massive Attack's album of something or the other playing in the background, the more I try to think about the name, the more my who-gives-a-flying meter glows red. This would be one of the few times I've been inspired to write about myself, ironically enough it took a night of drinking to bring me here but there goes another reading on the meter. I've an idea, lets turn this into a blog post, lets jot down something of substance, lets give 'em something to enjoy or more likely, something they could say they enjoyed without seeming awkward, better yet, lets end this sentence.

It's been about 2 or 3 hours and I still can't attribute the flavour in my mouth to anything one would experience in everyday life, though I'm thoroughly glad to see that cigarettes still bank on mystique, everybody knows what any kind of liqour might taste like, but with cigarettes, theres always that curiosity that momentarily overcomes your regular run'o'the'muck nicotine addiction. Bliss.

Over the past few years, I've dedicated much of my life to passively experiencing everything life has to offer, as well as experiencing what people actually mean when they proudly, yet stupidly proclaim that very statement. The first few words that would probably be on everybody's mind would probably be 'sex, drugs and rock'n'roll' , but really, everybody at this stage knows that the afore-mentioned 'creed' has been done time and time again until a life form becomes reminded of pain.

Ah sweet pain, it runs through our bodies like a black'n'blue river , never all that predictable , yet insultingly 'I told you so' when it does manage to strike you like a rookie ninja on his first day.

Recently I've been received the 'emo' crown (of thorns) after I joined a certain band, and this links me quite neatly to old man river , pain. I know for a fact that the word 'emo' doesn't really mean anything to me apart from a fashion sense or a trend, but I'm yet to meet an actual 'emo-induced' person, If you're one of them, please reply to this post so I can slap you quite swiftly on the face and prove that you aren't, the world has bigger problems than your dye-rottened head can possibly conceive.

*sigh* ignorant fools.

Call it a phase, but it might just be another spliff of experience pour moi, again just taking the world in without a gag reflex, trying out different things.

Being worldly.

Hahahaha thats rich.

I'm going to go ahead and end this little rant or whatever it may mean to you, but before I do, I'd like to formally apologise if I caused any of you to be curious about smoking, go ahead and read the little text on the boxes that informs you about the ramifications of ignorance,

Good day.

Sunday, March 04, 2007

I just tried to backspace a speck of dust

Like water over a blue flame,I'm left without a plan of action.
I really haven't got a clue about what to expect in years to come.
Who do you blame when you really would die for something,
and then you realise you're not a part of a TV show where undeserving
actors spin yarns that aren't even original, let alone self-penned, and are ultimately rewarded.

This isn't poetry.
Why are we so weak-willed?, how do we always manage to fail in tests like that,
that inevitably lead to crackly, moral ads that seem to mock, rather than preach?.
I'm tired of beginning every thought with the words "I wish..." ,it makes me seem a really ungrateful,
but then again when do you know when you're genuinely ungrateful ?. Theres always something this world
spews at you, that can always 1up (or 1down) your current state of despair and above all,
Loneliness.

This isn't poetry.
Why do I have to put on a mask of interest whenever I have to read bad writing or silly and stupid blog posts for instance?.
They always put my own pieces into perspective which come off as equally amateurish.
Why are there so many politically-incorrect morons around me, that are quicker to voice their opinion,
than they are to come up with one thats uninfluenced by a wave of folk that hail from the same flock?.

Again, this isn't poetry.

Nope, this time it really isn't poetry.

Snowy Days and Stressful Recordings

Hi, this would be my first post of the new year, I do realise its really late but I really had nothing to write about.

Yet now I find myself with a lot to write about but a lack of time, ignoring the fact that my fingers are quite numb (among other extremities). Recording goes well thankfully, my bass is done, and so are the drums.
Right now I'm in an internet cafe which happens to be right underneath a movie theatre, my toes don't feel like they really belong to me and I'm aching for a sandwich.
I'm coming back to Dubai on the 13th, so more news shall follow after that hopefully.

I really don't have much to say apart from..............nope I really don't have anything of substance.

Hope you lot are doing well, if you don't know where I am or what I've been upto, I'm sure someone will be able to fill you in.

Ah well, g'bye

Hindsight

Artificial drafts reveal signs of cold weather inside a box
A body's uncontrollable urge to maintain warmth

A resort to reveal reason
A mind's controllable, yet absent attempt to fight sanity

A magazine of bullets to end unhappiness
Smoke it to the butt, stub the filter.

A cup of warm coffee to add to the concotion , a relatively sober speedball of sorts.

These are the steps of the subtle degeneration of man.

A seemingly endless night of worry and despair
A magazine left empty, the situation sarcastically grins.

Roll over on a bed to watch the room convert into an arsenal.
The gleam of a needle, and the grimace of someone who swore "he'd never".

These are the steps of the subtle degeneration of man.

Dialing solace.

It's set, the orchestral gathering of thoughts.

Goodnight.

So I was at Spinneys with Tarun one evening getting something to drink when I decided to answer the call of nature.

Now usually I don't 'go' in places like this, shops, malls, school, the like ,

but if I hadn't gone this time, I would've missed some great art like,

or,

Got Wood?

Woke up that morning with a bad neck and a helluva hangover but I managed to get to Tarun's quick enough,
Kirk wasn't at home and Mark hadn't gotten there yet.
Tarun and I headed over to CBTL for a cappucino.
Kirk calls us over.
We run through our set, didn't go as bad as I thought, managed to sing alright
I think,
Headed over to the venue after getting lost atleast twice.
Ran through sound check.
And I was doing alright so far.

Then the metal kids started pouring in 2 hours later,
Greeted a few people in the crowd and waited until Adham gave us the go.
Hid behind the drumkit after I got bored of walking around.
Quick pep-talk and Adham gives us the 'go'.
We 'went'.

Man it was incredible , we pulled off a really tight set, considering the kind of music we were playing, it was really awesome seeing the crowd enjoying themselves and even (no seriously) moshing :|.
I'm going to end this post here , because I can ^_^.

Thanks a lot to everybody who came and saw us, your support means the world to us , thanks for having an open mind and thanks for listening, we were 'Got Wood?' ;).

Dave Matthews Band - Ants Marching
Incubus - Summer Romance (Anti Gravity)
Got Wood? - Star Train
Red Hot Chili Peppers - By The Way

Cigarette burns and coffee circles

Its easy to draw a link between being in a sensory deprivation tank,

and the relatively slow effects of living alone.

Woke up at around 4:28 PM today and played a little guitar,
conveniently skipped lunch, and managed to get myself to make some coffee an hour after.

Don't get me wrong though, I love this.
I'm afforded a few opportunities of coming home late, getting shitfaced without worrying anybody.

Right now I've got a pack of lights and coffee in front of me, lights dim, and Dire Straits - Fade to black playing.

I've had quite a week too, I won't get into any kind of details , but I wonder how good this will get.

The only reason I'm actually even posting this is because I haven't had the time , energy or need to post in a while.

Well I've got time now,

and stuff.

Oh and if you're wondering whats happening with Deviant (or DVNT as we're now called), the recording process is finally over and we've sent in our demo to CSM so keep your fingers crossed for us , lord knows we've got ours in knots at this point.

Cheers and goodnight.

The Collective Unconscious

The hidden sweeps
The clock runs lean
The faster they run
Fueled by ignorance
To choke their own
To Survive

Angels alight, morning fire
The break of dawn will mark
The final circle
Will we perish this time
Or left alone in this
Self destructive dance
To live
To breathe
To sin

Do you really move
As what I see
Nothing ever changes
Never at peace

Do you really bleed
For all that you do
Comes back to you
Never will be

Viva Italia and such

Who would've thought football would've been so much fun, Arnold was lucky enough to get his hands on two VIP tickets to the "Majlis" at the aviation club with an open bar and diner and we took full advantage of it.

Great game blah blah but what was really awesome was...

Dayaan's random thought of the day #1

"If modern music is technically nothing but different instruments spewing forth a bevy of notes in an orderly manner......

.............will there ever be a time where all possible combinations of said notes are made?"

Perish the thought, although its a little frightening how close music has gotten to the above statement, yes I'm talking about 'grindcore' and all it's other definitive forms.

It's almost like these bands decide to place notes that don't 'sound right' (yes yes I know, grano salis in mind) and just work from there.
Its not that I don't like it, in fact its quite the opposite, I find it really interesting the way bands like 'Sikth' can claim complete originality (for now) because of their 'strange' sound.

Thats all for now, I just thought I'd better make an update before I'd have to do it at gunpoint.

Saves a lot of fuss really.

Stickboy

A long time ago, about two years to be exact,
A bored, yet ambitious boy decided to liven up a certain forum that he was a part of , by creating a webcomic of his own.
However, owing to a lack of funding, talent and time,
It didn't really look all that appealing.

Believing in simplicity , he ploughed on and soon succeeded in spicening up the website he aimed to....spicen

So here it is, The Adventures of Stickboy

P.S On a side note, your first encounter of any of the strips may lead you to think that they're lame. But fret not little ones, for they were made for that purpose , and above all to be show how being random,

can also be kinda funny ^_^.

Go on then :).

Fin.

Incidentally, I've updated the blog roll on the right ,
I recommend Ishyta's blog, though new, I have a good idea what shes going to do with it,

Cheers all ;).

Graduation '06

I don't know if I'll be able to recreate the feelings or emotions floating through the halls that night , mostly because it happened on Saturday and its like.....Tuesday now.

But where words cease to be effective, pictures do even better,

Rajat gave a very very very good speech , as did Sonam, and Arnold and me managed to move the crowd with our 'close-to-solid' rendition of Mark Knopfler's 'Local Hero Theme : Going Home'.
Whats great is, that song will always make me remember that night, as well as the preparation and practice we went through,

Even as I listen to it now, the beginning still chokes me up.

All in all, it was a wonderful night, one that I won't forget for years to come,
The dinner right after at the Irish Village was brilliant too, Harith took the trouble of making a small speech about everyone in our grade and Aishwarya was kind enough to hand out personal gifts to us all (she even managed to be late for the ceremony because of it, you're an angel hun ;) ).

I'll wrap this up and continue on another post with more pictures as I get them hopefully,
Thank you to everyone whos helped me get this far,
and goodnight ;)

The Year of Tool

Image hosting by Photobucket

"They are the greatest band to sodomize my mind and soul...ever"

I don't care what the rest of you say, I think the new release Vicarious is great, I'm about to pre-order the CD as well.

If you're a newbie to Tool, the first thing you'd notice about their music is the off-time effect evident in almost all their songs, theres always some kind of twist that you can find in songs that would deter your finger drumming or rhythmic head movements.
Danny Carey's momentum building tom-work ,Adam Jones' simple, yet effective guitaring,Justin Chancellor's percussive use of bass and to crown it off, Maynard James Keenan's insightful lyrics and powerful vocals are the elements that together , can cause quite a stir in your thoughts.

I shall say no more.

Dear Murphy

Some of you might know that I'm about to say goodbye to my Prelude, if you don't,

I'm about to get rid of my car.

Now that thats out of the way,

Me and a few friends went to the dealership a few days ago to browse around for good deals and such,
Thats where I spotted her,

She was a white VW Golf GTi, the car I've been after for a little over a year.
Thinking it'd be an automatic, I had already written it off in my mind but it wasn't...
She was beautiful,
the rest of my posse quickly evaluated the car, beginning with whatever was wrong with it (no it was more like JUST what was wrong with it),
My eyes managed to see through the missing rear windshield wiper and the broken right headlamp, as well as the scuff on the left side mirror.

She really was something.

Excitedly, I called up my dad and told him about it and he said he'd take a look the next day.

I went to bed with a smile on my face that night.

This morning, my dad managed to take a day off , and we went and saw the car again, only the salesman wasn't to be found,

I went back there tonight with Arnold and after he inspected my Prelude, he agreed for a trade-in with a little expense. I couldn't believe it to be honest, but apparently it was "on".

I left the place and made my way home and hit the Sheikh Zayed Road,

Then it happened,

My hood flew up and smashed into the windshield and sunroof , I was blinded.
I tried to push it down repeatedly but this only caused it to smash into the windshield again.

I left it in a sandpit close to Thunderbowl and walked home,

The only reason I'm typing all this right now is because it happened atleast an hour ago and I've had plenty of time to think about it and get over some of the trauma.

The worst that could happen at that time, actually managed to happen (barring an accident).

It'll be a while until I can pretend to laugh about all this.

Part 2
-------------------

The walk home was terrible, the wind in my face only reminded me of how the hood flew up about 30 minutes ago (I have quite a graphic imagination)
It all caved in the whole walk home, from what I was feeling at the time, to the vicious cackle I heard from a passing motorist, and the person who came near my smashed vehicle and offered me a laminated card with arabic written on it.

This would probably qualify as the proverbial icing on the cake in regard to my recent string of unfortunate events.

That car is now dead to me,

R.I.P Carla.

Prose : n 1: "ordinary writing as distinguished from verse 2: matter of fact, commonplace, or dull expression"

I've hit a low again,
don't ask me why,

I'll probably forget about it in the morning.

I just feel a little hurt but it'll rub off as soon as I finish this post.

Its closing in on 3 Am right about now.

I feel pathetic having to turn to my blog for comfort.

Musics a great anesthetic when you aren't thinking about it.

This is beginning to morph itself into a poem.

Like one of those 'dare-I-say' emo ones you'd find on a random LiveJournal.

I should be grateful.

Yeah, I should be grateful.

End.

Snow of the Sahara

So its been eons since I last blogged , or has it?,

My blog 'culture' usually entails me being inspired at random times, although right now I'm going to attempt to force it.

hm.

Ah yes, prom managed to suck even more than last years (if thats even possible) ,
However, after about 5 Vodkas (I lost count) and swig of Tequila, Karan made up for the rest of the night with his shenanigans , God bless him the poor sod.

In other news I realised what a computer geek I am,
Our router fried and after about two days of no intraweb , I spent my free time being holed up in my room doing absolutely fuck all.
I did get a lot of bass practice done though, I think I'm finally getting better, I can feel my left hand getting faster , after a stint of it not being able to keep up with my right hand.
I need a proper bass too, I've lowered the action so low on mine that when I tune down to D (which incidentally is what Deviant tunes to) , I get a slight fret buzz,
I'm hoping it won't be noticeable when we record this summer.

I've been listening to quite a lot of Jazz these days thanks to Arnold, mostly stuff by Dave Weckl, if you haven't heard of him, try getting hold of a track of his called 'Tower of Inspiration'.

I've got nothing much to say now,
Checked out Beneath The Remains , NSD , Stenchwart M.A.N , Believe and Revenge Tragedy last night at the 4th Assembly gig, it was great meeting a lot of people there too.

Incidentally, I've added the Sandwash blog to my chain of links, I recommend checking it out.

So thats it I guess.

Cheers and such.
